The Board of Selectmen and the Town Manager call upon the Partnership, working with other community agencies and organizations, to carry out certain tasks in support of this goal. These include, but are not necessarily limited to, the following:
Identifying local, state, and federal housing resources available to Lexington
Working to enhance land use regulations and zoning bylaws to mandate or encourage a more affordable housing stock
Developing and modifying affordable housing strategies based on the Planning Board's Comprehensive Plan: The Lexington We Want
Increasing public awareness through public information and forums
Locating available land and developed properties suitable for development of affordable housing
Working with developers of affordable housing
Making recommendations on the pros and cons of particular housing proposal
Advising the Selectmen and the Planning Board to aid in their decision-making process
